Why Most Burnout Interventions Fail
They treat the symptoms.
A day off. An app. A better boundary you'll forget by Thursday.
None of it touches the real driver: the stress patterns running underneath, on autopilot, since before you can remember choosing them.
Under pressure, even the most capable people don't rise to their intentions. They fall back to their programming.
Triage doesn't manage what you're feeling. We find where it's coming from.
Using neuroscience, somatic practice, and NLP, we identify the inherited patterns driving how you respond to pressure, authority, rest, and worth.
These aren't personality traits. They're programs.
And programs can be rewritten.
Signs It's Time To Choose Your Nervous System Upgrade Path:
This is your team if:
The cost of burnout has quietly shifted from a people problem to a performance problem. The usual fixes have made it worse
-
Your strongest performers are the ones most at risk — and the least likely to say so
-
The resignation letter that blindsided leadership didn't blindside anyone sitting near that person
-
Your wellness budget has been spent. The exhaustion remains
-
Communication breaks down exactly when the stakes are highest — not from a skills gap, but because the nervous system is in survival mode
-
Every retreat produced photos. Not fuel.
-
Your culture deck says one thing. Your turnover rate says another.
-
The people most likely to leave are the ones you can least afford to lose
-
You've tried the obvious interventions. You need something that addresses the root.
What you actually need isn't another wellness perk.
It's a methodology that works beneath the symptom level — addressing the inherited behavioral patterns and nervous system conditioning driving chronic stress, before it becomes an operational crisis. With outcomes you can measure and defend to your CFO.
This is you if:
You've gotten so good at performing fine that even you've lost track of where the performance ends and you begin
-
The Sunday dread arrives reliably — and has for longer than you want to admit
-
You're the last person anyone checks on, because you handle everything so well
-
Your reaction to small things has become disproportionate — and you notice it happening in real time
-
Nothing feels restorative. Rest doesn't restore. Vacation doesn't reset.
-
You've tried the obvious fixes — therapy, boundaries, a fresh start — and the pattern came back
-
Bold moves no longer feel safe. Success itself no longer feels safe.
-
You sense the stress response running underneath all of it isn't entirely yours — that it has a history older than your current job or relationship
-
You're not broken. You're tired of white-knuckling a life that should feel better than this by now.
What's actually happening:
The patterns driving your exhaustion weren't built in your current environment. They were inherited — through family systems, cultural history, and early experience — and they've been running on autopilot ever since. Understanding that changes everything about how you address it.

Our law firm decided to work with Triage on tackling overwhelm in our workplace. Our team feels lighter — not because life or work got easier, but because they put down weight they didn't know they'd been carrying and began enjoying the job again.
Yasmin A; Orange County, CA.
Our agency had been searching for external services to get us back on track as we are a global design firm that was looking at damage control for our burned out creatives... or in Triage terms “We had gotten stuck in hypo-arousal”. With the program Triage guided us through, we understood that our employees never got out of the cortisol cycle and because of that, the parts of the brain that responded to learning and creativity had shut down. The proof is more than can be shared in one post, unbelievable.

The work Triage does is practical but equally, incredibly interesting. At Binani Tech, we employ an array of people from all over the world and Triage showed our teams to give themselves permission — to rest, to take up space, to stop performing in survival. How we interact with our international clientele has completely changed as well. Overall, a brilliant investment.
Angad G. Mumbai, India
I graduated last year from University and was offered a job in cancer research, my dream. I was miserable within the first two months as the stress was too much for me. Triage coached me in true discernment. I finally understood the difference between my own voice and the inherited noise. What I thought was my reaction to the workplace turned out to be an automatic response to the fact that several close relatives had battled cancer in the past. My brain was subconsciously seeing a threat. I’m still in the role, and have a new understanding of what I contribute.
Iva T. - Cambridge, United Kingdom
I feel authorship in my life AND my business. Possibly for the first time, I feel like the main character of my own situation instead than a supporting role in someone else's story. Triage coached me in finding the through line in my life. I am a new person.
Melissa W. - San Luis Obispo, CA.
"Most programs change what you know. Triage changes what you're running on. We work at the intersection of neuroscience and ancestral stress patterns - the place where burnout actually forms, long before it shows up in your inbox or your body."

Stephanie Ohannesian, Founder, Triage Coaching & Consulting
Stephanie holds an MSc in Social Cognition and Decision-Making Sciences from University College London, completed postgraduate research in Cross-Cultural Business Integration at the London School of Economics, and earned her undergraduate degree in Applied Psychology and Human Rights Philosophy at UCLA. Her research background includes work with neuroscience teams at Yale and UCL.
She built that expertise the hard way. After years leading large-scale international events, she saw the silent cost of high achievement up close — until acute burnout landed her in the ER, her body and mind too depleted to function. That moment became the question she's spent her career answering: not just why we burn out, but how to help people stop it before it gets that far.
As the first-generation daughter of refugee and immigrant parents, Stephanie has a personal relationship with the pressure to perform at all costs — and with what it takes to trade that pattern for something sustainable. Today, Triage partners with leaders, organizations, and individuals worldwide — including refugee-led and community-based initiatives — bringing rigorous science and lived experience to how people lead and live under pressure.
